BADAGRY LAHA ASPIRANT, HON. PADONU SEWEDO ISMAIL CALLS FOR PEACE, TOLERANCE AND PURPOSFUL ENGAGEMENT IN THE HOLY MONTH; SHARES INSIGHT ON ASPIRATION

Badagry, Lagos State —

As the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan coincide with the gradual build-up to the political season, Hon. Padonu Sewedo Ismail has called on residents of Badagry Constituency I to embrace peace, tolerance, and purposeful engagement.

Speaking during an exclusive interaction, Hon. Sewedo described Lent and Ramadan as “not merely periods of fasting, but seasons of reflection, renewal, and forgiveness.” He urged Christians and Muslims across Badagry and Lagos State to approach the spiritual exercise with humility and a renewed commitment to unity. According to him, sustained prayers, charity, and collective responsibility remain essential to strengthening the social fabric of Badagry.

Addressing the emerging political climate, Hon. Sewedo reassured constituents that his campaign would be issue-based, peaceful, and development-driven. “The era of personality politics is fading. What the people demand now is substance,” he stated.

He outlined key priorities including economic revival, infrastructure and housing expansion, education and technology advancement, as well as youth and women empowerment. He emphasized the need to consolidate on projects that position Badagry as a strategic trade hub, while expanding affordable housing initiatives and scaling digital capacity programs for young people.

On peaceful engagement, he warned that violence undermines development, noting that Badagry’s historic legacy as a cradle of civilization must be preserved. He pledged collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to maintain harmony throughout the electoral process.

Hon. Sewedo further highlighted inclusive development, stressing support for smallholder farmers, border traders, cooperatives, SMEs, and vulnerable residents. He reaffirmed his commitment to regular town hall meetings and transparent governance.

“The path to self-reliance demands new thinking and shared responsibility,” he concluded.
