Council Chairman Hands Over Official Vehicles to Eti-Osa East Lawmakers, Executives

Lagos Mirror Magazine:

In a move aimed at strengthening effective governance at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Biliaminu Samson Agunbiade, has presented official Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to members of the council’s legislative and executive arms.

The presentation, held at the council secretariat, saw all five councillors of the LCDA take delivery of their assigned vehicles. The handover was conducted by prominent leaders within the council, reflecting broad institutional support for improved service delivery and functional local administration.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Agunbiade explained that the provision of official vehicles to councillors is a statutory obligation of local government administration, as provided for in existing guidelines. He noted that adequate mobility remains essential for councillors to effectively perform their legislative, oversight, and constituency engagement duties across their wards.

The chairman admonished the beneficiaries to deploy the vehicles strictly for official assignments, emphasizing accountability, discipline, and commitment to public service. He urged them to remain focused and uphold the trust reposed in them by the people of Eti-Osa East LCDA.

In their responses, the councillors expressed appreciation to the chairman for his leadership and foresight, pledging to use the vehicles responsibly and rededicate themselves to quality representation and community development.

The gesture underscores the Agunbiade administration’s commitment to institutional strengthening, responsive governance, and improved service delivery at the local level.
